If your child is new to basketball, enroll in our skills and drills program. Two to three months of lessons are recommended before attempting one of our groups.

Your coach will contact you by Sunday, December 18th to let you know when your practice days and times will be. Practices are held twice a week with weekend games.

One time new player fee is $195. Fee includes SOL discounts to camps/clinics, SOL jersey, SOL t-shirt and player insurance.

There is a $50 trial fee for season tickets. It will hold your ground in these endeavors. All players form a team! (This assumes your child has attended our skills and drills program prior to the trial). Tests will determine which team makes it.

San Diego Sol will hold tryouts for its various teams each season. A prospective player should come to tryouts prepared and ready to show off their basketball skills. Past and present San Diego Sol players are not guaranteed playing status on any team. Awarding a position on the team will be based on the following criteria:

Individual players may be transferred from one team to another at the club's discretion. As each player's skill and commitment level increases, we can ask the player to move to a higher level team. Roster changes may be necessary to ensure an appropriate level of competition for each team and maximize benefits for each player.

All teams train twice a week. Delta groups are predefined. See times below. Local and travel team practice times will be determined after testing. All practices are held at Alliant International University at Scripps Ranch (10455 Pomerado Road, San Diego 92131).

Delta League teams consist of Sol players only and teams will be drawn for parity. The D-League allows you to play as talented as your child under supervision focused on developing skills and understanding the game.

Teams are designed for intermediate players or players who cannot stick to a travel schedule. Most players must not have participated in at least one season of the Delta team in order to qualify.

Tour groups are for the advanced player committed to a competitive schedule. The player has solid fundamentals and can perform at a high level of skill with control, speed and power. The player is ready to compete in high-level tournaments.

Magic Basketball Tournaments

Players are still eligible to make a travel team during the winter season. Coaches will determine whether a player can play on the travel team at the tryout.

3 Payable in 3 installments. Does not include travel, food or accommodation. Players must note their travel and accommodation (the club will provide details of the location and time of each event so that members can travel and stay together).

² New members pay a one-time registration fee of $195. This fee includes reverse jersey, Sol t-shirt, tank top and player insurance. The season fee is non-refundable and is based on space rental for practices, games, tournaments, leagues, club registration fees, coaches' stipends and travel expenses, administrative fees, team equipment and facilities. We have fundraising opportunities to help cover the cost of attending.
